I have been bummed the last few days.
There are a few people that decided to get their lives back a few years ago....lose some weight and get in shape.
We worked out at the gym back when I belonged and tried to encourage each other.
I had not seen these folks in almost a year. I bounced into them over the weekend and they had put all their weight back on plus.
I could care less what people weight but if your passion is to get healthey and you work to achieve it I hate to see all that work go to waste.
The funny thing is when I bumped into these two they started apologizing up and down to me.
I tried to stop them but they just kept going.
Once they gave me every reason in the book they couldn't get the weight off I let the silence be real loud and then I told them how much I want what is best for them. If eating and chilling out makes them whole...do it up.....if that is not the case then look in the mirror and apologize to yourself not to me.
We all need to learn that accountability....ultimate accountability....stops with us.
Once we realize that any negative behaviour we succumb to hurts us more than anyone else...then and only then we will realize how important our decisions are daily.
Great story here Tom. The situation behind it is kind of a bummer but still a great story to share. I know how your friends felt. A similar thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. A friend from my childhood had been encouraging me along the way to getting healthy again recently. A couple of weeks ago she asked how my routine was going and I was honest with her and told her it wasn't going at all.
ReplyDeleteI have found myself trying to get back to square one again and just get a routine down. This coming month should be good as my work travel is going to be considerably less. I am hoping I can take advantage of that to get a solid routine in by the end of September.
Keep the posts coming as you have the thoughts! It is appreciated.
